Node.js Hackday and Party @Rackspace
We are doing another Hackday and party with Rackspace and Nodejitsu - this time with node.js. You can show up and hack all day or just come in the evening for the tech talks, demos and the party.
Food, beer and skeeball provided. Bring ideas or find a team.
Agenda
9am: Start Hacking
6pm: Tech Talk by James Halliday from StackVM
7pm: Demos
8pm: Move to a local bar
Speaker
James Halliday - StackVM
James studied computer science at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks and might even get around to doing that graduation paperwork sometime. He currently lives in Oakland, California and works with StackVM to make virtual machines just a "little less terrible".
Ideas
- Developer stats site; turn this into a game a la Twisted Highscores
- IRC Bots that integrate with build, deployment, tracking tools
- REST interfaces for language-specific libraries a la libcloud.rest
- REST interface for cron jobs a la cron.io
- Web interface for remote terminal a la tty.js
Useful tools
Look for hack code during and after events here.
